2019 is almost gone!
Here’s a look back at the productions we’ve completed in the last year:
Trachoma: Trachoma is a bacterial eye infection. We produced this story with the Northern Territory Department of Health. It’s been translated into six Indigenous languages!
Amity Resources: As part of Amity Community Services Inc’s Health Promotion Activity to reduce harms associated with gambling in community, italk studios delivered workshops in Ti-tree, Willowra, and the Tiwi Islands. The resources produced help community members address the complex nature of gambling in community.
Elvis’ Story: This three part story was made for Danila Dilba. It tells the story of Elvis, a young person whose family is having trouble taking care of him. Every young person has the right to safety, food, and education.
Crusted Scabies and Hospital Story: Made with One Disease and the Alice Springs Hospital, this story explains treatment procedures for patients with Crusted Scabies.
Personal Stories from the Training Program: 2019 marks the 5th year of italk Studios’ Training Program at the Alice Springs Correctional Centre. Participants produce Work Stories about life in gaol and Personal Stories in which content is driven by the individual. In 2019 we produced nineteen Personal Stories. We are very proud of our 2019 Training Program graduates!
Mums Can, Dads Can: Tangentyere Family Violence Prevention Program asked us to produce an animation that addresses harmful gender roles and promotes ways to change them. Gender equality and an end to domestic violence for all!
Wow, what a year! We’ve been honoured to have worked with so many departments, organisations, and individuals this year. Cheers to a great 2020!
italk Studios will be closed from Monday 23rd December 2019 to Wednesday 8th January 2020.
